Multiple MIDI controllers

Thanks for the reply. I saw in another thread that some development is being done to improve MIDI support in MyDMX. Do you know if multiple MIDI controller support is part of these plans?

Also, if anyone else knows of a workaround to make this work it would be greatly appreciated.

The issue with MyDMX is that it can only accept input from ONE MIDI source, but I need to clarify and maybe refine that.

Like for example, on a MIDISPORT 2X2, will it look to both MIDI IN ports, or just the A or just the B. I can't easily test that right now.

BUt, let's say you have a korg nanokontrol plugged in AND a Novation Launchpad. ONly one is going to work, and it's a crap-shoot as to which one it is. I think it's typically the nanokontrol, but don't quote me on that.

I will say this, if you're using a USB MIDI interface, or a firewire MIDI interface, you have whatever you can cram onto that MIDI chain available to you, which can include multiple devices. You may wish to use a MIDI merging device like the MX-8 to consolidate your MIDI OUTS into one single consolidated MIDI OUT signal if you're using multiple true MIDI controllers.

Otherwise, if you're using multiple USB and/or firewire devices that have MIDI and/or a MIDI interface, it can be chaotic figuring what WILL work.

This has to do with the implementation of MIDI. Ideally, MyDMX should provide an interface to say "hey, dude, where am I getting MIDI from". From there, it's up to developers to decide if they want to support multiple MIDI sources(via whatever means they connect) or just a single exclusive device(you can only select one).

Like, I would like to trigger scenes and stuff using my Novation Launchpad AND my korg nanoPAD, plus do real-time control using my nanoKontrol and my JL-Cooper CS102. But I can't. Oh well for now. But Compu Show lets me!
