With 100% confidence the most popular is by a LARGE margin. . .

Tempest AS/2 kicks butt. But I also say the Symphony, and the Megadroid (both discontinued) 
But A Charisma, and 3 mini-gems around it look good. Put in a Snap Shot or 4 and its a kick ass show!

While the Tempest is one of the best and most amazing centerpieces, it is far from the most popular. Why? Simple, weight and cost. I would agree that one of the truely most popular would be a mirror ball. I use one now, and am moving to 2, and getting a tempest....So I will have the best of both worlds...
go with the Verti-Pro II!!! Its a great light, or if you cant get that get the Vertigo, the little brother/sister of the pro II

I have to disagree with a "hurl and twirl" light being an effective centerpiece. I would say (as far as ADJ)...The Tempest has to be my pick.
...actually they are called 'spin and puke' lights. and actually they are very effective as a centerpiece. i use a progressor with my mighty scan system and i get more compliments on it than my mighty's..doohhhh!
Hurl and twirl sounds much better. These lights are so static, they lack the dynamics of intelligent effects. A HURL AND TWIRL light has to have much more to be effective IE THE RAPTOR

I wouldn't be so critical of other peoples likes and dislikes. If someone is just starting out and has a limited budget "those lights" you are referring to are just fine. I've been to many functions that "those lights" would have been much better than what the DJ had which was nothing!

Not being critical...merely stating my opinion. I don't think most people know what is possible if you only save up a couple bucks. Dont mind the capitols....just stating my opinion
BTW, nice to know the administrators are doing there job and making sure the forum is on an even keel. We all know how lighting guys can get....dont we?
