I am noticing a minor glitch with the "Snap Shot" strobe light.

With the strobe controller on "FULL ON" mode there is a short delay in the blinking of one of the strobe lights. It is not constant. I tried replacing the bulb. That had no affect. All the other 15 strobes attached to the controller work perfectly on "FULL ON" mode. I dismantled the strobe but didn't see anything out of the ordinary.

What could be the problem here? What would cause a short and random delay on a strobe light on "FULL ON" mode?

well if its such a probelm to you, and lets remember that a snapshot is all of $60-70 bucks then why are you willing to waste your time and turn this whole "probelm" into a scientific study when all you have to do is buy another one......................

if its not the lamp then it might be the fixture, so in order to check it buy another one and replace it, common sense tells you that if the probelm still happens then check the closet light in the line.

dude I love how your boss just put a dj in to do a LIGHTING GUYS JOB Wink

maybe thats why I charge so much.
Billy D you are starting to aggravateme. Look, I am not a professional DJ. I work at a bowling alley that puts on a light show. I am just a part time employee that is trying to help out as much as I can. The full timers there have their hands full with other problems so I took it upon myself to deal with the lighting. Billy your constant belittling of myself is unjust. I am not an expert electrician. I am just a college student working at a part time job for some extra money. There is no need to be so harsh towards my questions. Do yourself a favor. If you think I am big idiot, stop relying to my questions. You are starting to get on my nerves with your sarcastic responses. Dude, lay off dude!!! I'm just trying to help my boss and learn some news things about Dj lighting at the same time. Is that OK with you. Dude?
I must apologize to mister strykr for my remarks as they came off very wrong.

I was tried helping you in all you posts I reply, but when I ask you a question I dont get a answer. like the question about the dmx-solo I asked where you where, but no answer...either know if your by me I'll be more then glad to help you out with a controller. if not then someone on the board will.

I gave you that answer about the strobe because It actually took me 3 months to figure it out myself. There was a place with a bad lamp in a strobe like the snap shot, after months for searching for the rite kind of lamp it turns out it wasn't the lamp. Now I look back and seen the money I spent on the different lamps ($100) I could have bought a new snap shot and saved money.

I meant that post to come across as a way to teach you off my mistake, and I didn't think you would take it that serious. But I'm sorry I made you feel little, as I was in your position before to and remember how it was starting.
I will tell you I was ****** cause I took your posts as your boss was taking advantage of you by having someone dying to learn more do work for free...............trust me I got screwed many times like that in the beginning and I regret every time. in the end did i learn anything off it?.....no I just learned that If I'm going to learn about lighting I need to buy it myself, and its not as hard as it sounds.

I would love to know more about your job there and yes I am looking out for you, but take my advice...... we all understand your trying to learn and see this as a good chance to but.......... in the end you'll make more enemies in the lighting business cause your take there jobs and not even getting paid what you should, in other words by you not getting paid like you should your lowering the price the experienced lighting guys charge,

My email is bhd812@aol.com
send me an email and I'll send you some sites that will teach you more about lighting then a bowling alley ever will.

And to master DJ.......when did I get the other warnings?.....lol I'M JUST JOKING ..LOL
are you really the president or what? Big Grin
Billy billy billy much better. I know you are always skating on the edge and I do appreciate your explanation. Yes MasterDJ is the person in charge. Now DJStrykr Intermitent problems are a pain to solve. Try exchanging the position of the strobe with another. This would tend to eliminate power fluctuations and bad cable.
Now that's the kind of help I was expecting when I joined this forum. Thank you SUPPORT for your tips on my strobe problem. I will look into what you said about the wires.
I have a suspicion though, about a faulty relay. When I took the strobe apart I noticed what looked to be like 4 relays on the bottom. Do strobe lights have relays? And if so would a faulty relay cause a flash delay? I'd rather replace a $2 relay rather than buy a new $60 strobe light.
And as for "Billy D"...

Don't worry about where I am, what I do, my job, or anything about me. Never mind me, ok, just stick to worrying about how much less you will get paid because of losers like me who want to do some extra-curricular activities for their jobs so to help others and learn a few things in the meanwhile.
Billy take my advise, if you don't want to make enemies in this forum, KNOW WHEN TO END YOUR APOLOGIES!!! Don't apologize to me and then tell me "in the end you'll make more enemies in the lighting business cause your take there jobs and not even getting paid what you should, in other words by you not getting paid like you should your lowering the price the experienced lighting guys charge"
WHAT IS THAT ALL ABOUT BILLY? NICE APOLOGY DUDE!

**Cough**Joey***Cough** lol.

Strykr, and Billy.
I would like to add that I don't want to see any more bickering. If I have to tell you again. You WILL get a timeout in the corner. Wink

Alright guys Kiss and make up.
Ok, I will stop this battle. I just wanted to stick up for myself. It ends now though. Sorry for all the trouble.

I will go ahead and test the capacitors. I will let you know how it turns out in case anyone experiences the same problem down the road. And yes I will have the capacitor discharged before I test it. Thanks for the warning.
