Hi,

I was checking out the myDMX and found it to be a great tool. I'm almost decided, but there's one issue that's keeping me from buying it. Hopefully you guys can clear this out for me.

Here's what I need:

- Can myDMX be triggered to "auto-start" with a song?

Let me explain a bit better. I have a band, and I would like to setup a scene (or light show I don't know which is the best definition) for each song that we play live.

I thought that maybe this could be done through MIDI, maybe having the myMDX listen to an specific MIDI channel and an specific MIDI event. Although I haven't found information regarding this.

Maybe there's another way to link these two things (lights and songs).... I don't know. But, since we use MIDI, it would be great if we could set it up from there.

Anyway, what I need to have the light show and the songs to start at the same time.

Thanks in advance!

Let change a bit my approach... Is there a way to link the my dmx (or any ohter lighting software) to a DAW?

Just in case a DAW is for exmaple Cakewalk's Sonar, ProTools, Digital Perfomer. In order words Audio Software...

I'm just trying to look for a way to sync my sequences with the lights. I don't wanna end up trying to manually start both programs at the same time...

It would be great if when I start the sequence in Sonar, the dmx software automatically starts the scene along with it.

I want to do it this way so I have light shows specially designed for each song... capturing every detail of the song (stops , intensity and stuff like that). If the song and the lights do not match (in timing), it will look very weird...

Hopefully you understand what I'm trying to do...

Anyway, thanks again!
