MIDI MAPPING

Hello everyone, I was just wandering if any of you guys knows where I can find or read about midi mapping, i've been trying to understand the midi language, but i can seem to understand it.

Can anyone please point me in the right direction?

the way of programming midi differs from software to software.

I'm running with Virtual DJ Pro-Mac V.7.0.4

I need to understand the parameters or MIDI Language so I can remap some of the functions, for example, I use Leo's Mapping but in the Effects Knobs and Buttons, I want to be able to control not only volume but effects parameters as well and re map some other functions to my desire
