Hi I notice on the instruction manual it says:
There are two MIDI Latency modes; Normal mode and Turbo mode. Normale mode has MIDI Latency of 10 seconds, this is the default mode. Turbo mode has a MIDI latency of 1 second.

Surely this is wrong! A latency of 10 seconds? That would be insane.

Has anyone tried the 'turbo' mode that is meant to decrease the latency?
You get to it by:

"To set the VMS4 to "Turbo mode: Before powering on press and hold the CUE, PLAY, and PAUSE buttons on the left side. Hold the buttons until channel volume level indicatorS (7) light up with the code version. See page 11 CHANNEL VOLUME LEVEL INDICATORS for information on the code version."

Yes, I have tried it.

I agree that 10 seconds is ridiculous. Even one second sounds too long!

It did seem to make the jog wheel scratch response a bit better when I tried.

What I want to know is - once you've changed to turbo mode, does the unit retain that and power up in turbo mode from then on, or do you have to enable it every time you turn on?

It would be best if it retained the setting.

That maybe a mistake in the manual. 10ms and 1ms would seem to be more accurate. can the AA guys double check this please?

But: How can i enable "turbo mode" and "post EQ mode"? Pressing all 4 buttons (cue, play, pause, search) at the same time?

BTW i`m using the VMS2.

I think post EQ mode stays on after power off device, unless you disable it again, so you dont need do it at same time.
