I have to run lights from the stage, so I've been setting up scenes with steps to make things interesting. I usually have a lighting guy, but still need this method as a backup. When I bought my Elation controller, I was told it couldn't be done, but I found a way after many sleepless nights of experimenting. Has anyone done this? It sure would be nice to get back on a regular sleep schedule.

I have a Behringer FCB 1010. My system has a midi in/out via an E-Mu PCI sound card.

Yes, it's not a big deal.

Just find a scene in USER mode and right mouse click, learn MIDI trigger. A little window should show up waiting for MIDI trigger. hit your trigger and it should vanish. Learned. Done. Save.

You do have a MIDI interface to your computer, right? it's necessary.
Had my first performance controlling MyDmx from my midi foot pedal! It was almost as easy as was described. I'd even suggest this foot pedal method for DJ's since it keeps the clutter down and you still have access to your controls.

A couple of points that I learned...
1. Select the scene you want to assign and be sure it's running in the USER tab.
2. Once the scene is running, right click the scene, a message will appear, "Waiting for MIDI".
3. Press the button/slider/knob that you want to trigger that scene.

DONE! It really was that easy! Keep in mind that this is strictly for triggering scenes, not controlling individual lights. (i.e. scanners, moving heads) I set up a total of 30 scenes (10 each on 3 banks) including chases, washes, strobes, and a few others with timings. This method was as simple as I could devise, but the show was exceptional! Kudos to the developers at ADJ on this front!

Thanks again to Jingles and Chris for their guidance.
