micro galaxian issue

I hope someone can help... It appears my Micro Galaxian has an issue responding to the sound active mode. I put int in sound active mode and unless I actually TAP the mic in the back, it doesnt respond. I tried turning he knob that is SPEED (which if I remember is also the sound input volume) but it does nothing. What is going on and how do I fix? I can put the unit RIGHT next to my speaker and it works so the mic is not dead .. it just appears the sensitivity is turned all the way down and there is no way to increase the mic sensitivity anymore. the knob does work for controlling the SPEED in regular mode so I know the knob is working.. any help would be appreciated ... Dave

There may be something wrong with the unit? It seems as if the MIC is bad. It is really hard to tell not having the unit present. Would you like to send it back? If so, then please contact me via email: JoelChen@americandj.com. Thank you very much.
