Hello,

First post!

I am looking for info on 3 fixtures:

Mega Go Flood Par
Mega Go Flood Par HO
Mega Go Flood Bar

Does anyone know the total lighting output of these fixtures, and how they compare with each other? The specs on paper actually appear to give the older Mega Go Flood Par a significant edge in total lighting wattage, as shown below:

Mega Go Flood Par: 27 x 4.5 watt diodes = 139 watts

Mega Go Flood Par HO: 54 x 1.7 watt diodes = 92 watts

Mega Go Flood Bar: 54 x 1.7 watt diodes = 92 watts

Does anyone have the stats on these fixtures and how they compare with each other? Figures on their total Lux would be especially appreciated, or any information on the difference between the SMD's used in the original Mega Go Flood versus the new "High Output" versions on the Mega Go Flood Bar and the Mega Go Flood Par HO. Even side-by-side pictures comparing the light output would be great!

Part of the reason I ask is because I can pick up the older version fairly cheap, but am willing to spring for the more expensive newer version if they truly are brighter as they "High Output" designation would seem to indicate.

Also, although I intend to use these for underlighting tables, I am curious if anyone has used these as dance floor washes. It seems (in my head anyway) that these might be a good choice in a small venue. Since the lights have a broader throw, I am *guessing* that they will be less of a glare in people's eyes than a more narrow and focused beam would be. Has anyone tried this?

Thank you!

Hi josh, welcome to the forums.

In each of the respective Flood product user manuals is a handy LUX chart. Each one of these products has the same 120 degree beam angle. So, the total output could be read from the lux chart in the PDF manual. If you aren't really sure how to read a Lux chart, feel free to ask any questions here.

Your total wattage is incorrect, the total power draw is actually listed in the specs of each product page, so the power draw per fixture is this:

Mega GO Flood Par is 18w Max
Mega GO Flood Bar is 30w Max
Mega GO Flood Par HO is 22w Max

The reason for these low power consumptions is the LEDs and the driver boards are driven off of a DC current rather than AC. It's a lot of electrical engineer crap I'll never fully understand myself but it's true.

As far as the rest of your questions, we will see if anyone who has used these for a show have anything to say.
Thanks!
