Megabar macros for DMX

We have about 30 megabars controlled through a hog 3 board through DMX. We recently found the macro function while programing. The thing we could not figure out is how to change the color of the macro.

For example when we do color flow all we get is a white light. Is there anyway to make it another color? If not how can we make macros to use with the board so that we have different colors?

We have megabar 50. We color mix to achieve the colors on the bars. On ewe apply a macro each one has different colors like 2 flow has red and green and flow only does white. All the other macros do their own color too.

We have the megabars on the highest possible channels. We contorl them on the hog 3 and just select the macro and we are stuck with just those colors. I will be happy to try any of your ideas but right now I'm away from the board and won't be by it until tommorow morning. Thanks for the quick reply!

Sorry I just checked and their 7 channel. Also according to the manual as programs but on the board as macros. Which is right?

The "macro" is a built in program. You will not be able to over ride the colors that are running in each of the Macro's/ programs. So they are playing back as they should be. Make sense?

I understand what you are saying. So the bottom line is the macros can't be changed?

Since they can't be changed is there any way to control different parts of the Megabar like recreating the color flow macro?

No sorry. Not on the mega bar 50. The highest channel count it goes up too is 7. However the mega bar pro and Tri and the original mega bar have different LED sections and higher channel counts of control. And no the macro cannot be changed. you'd have to reprogram a chip in each unit in order to change it and we don't do that.

Ok thanks. So if we get some of the oringal megabars we would be able to recreate the effects of the macros but with different colors, right? If that is true how many channels of DMX would each one take?
