Mega strobe 750 standalone

Hello guys/gals, I'm interested in purchasing the Mega strobe 750 for my Christmas light display. I want it to show as an 'explosion' in my garage with the 'elfs' working. I'm using Light-o-rama software which will eventually support DMX...but as of now, it does not. The only control I can give is to turn lights on/off via the power supply to each device or string of lights.

So, can I set the Mega strobe 750 for standalone and when I want it to fire, I just apply the power? It will only be on for a second or two. Thoughts? Thx!
