MEGA BAR - Dimming Question?

Hi,
I have just bought a MEGA BAR RC which I intend to use as a "footlight" for uplighting a band. It is, however, very bright. Can the supplied remote control adjust the overall brightness on Auto or Sound Active modes? I can dim individual LED colours with the remote for colour mixing but cannot seem to find a way to globally dim the fixture in AUTO or Sound active modes - is this possible or do I have to get a DMX controller?
If I need a controller, what is the most basic way of doing this - I don't want to get into programming DMX as I am happy with the built in AUTO and Sound Active programs, I just want to be able to control dimming in these modes. Any help appreciated as I have a gig at the weekend and would like to get it sorted before then.
