ok,

thinking about buying 2 Mega Bar 50's
i called ADJ, but they did not have an answer for me as they have not tested,
was told to consult the manual, but the manual is very basic and does not go into much detail

question are a few:
if hooking up 2 of these, in master slave
will the remote control control the slave?
or only the master will "see" remote

if i want to "blackout" both, or change colors of both,
is it suffice to "blackout" or change the master?
or do i have to point remote(s) on both Bars?

it would make sense to point to the master and have slave respond

i know manually (without remote), the slave will follow all actions from master,

but will someone please explain exactly how the remote(s) function when master/slave is used

and hooking up one RC, and one non-RC units
i've seen it done by Brian Redd,
and the one RC controlled them all, even the older non-RC's...

but need to know if they are all RC units (with remote), how that will work

ADJ, please test this and advise

thank you so much to anyone who can shed some light on this

I was asked a similar question at mobile beat.
The answer was not fully satisfactory to the person who asked me.
If your using two of these units and both IR eye's are within range of the remote you very well may get both responding to the same command. But one thing is if you had one 50RGB RC and one 50RGB non RC and you hooked the two up master/slave the non RC would follow the master RC. Make sense? Again I did not have a lot of time to play with these so I COULD be wrong. But it is the nature of single channel only remotes unfortunately.
Sincerely,
how do you go about mounting the Mega Bar 50 on simple light stand?

all my other lights just hang off 1 nut/bolt
but these have brackets on both sides,
will these fit on the side arms of my On-Stage stand? occupying the 2 mounts on each?
i dont use a truss, jsut 1 simple stand with "T" and side bars

anyone have these bolted to their light stands?
I found out the answer to your remote question.

"After testing units you must point RC to master unit only and slave should fallow .

But if slave unit picks up RC signal when coming back on with auto run or program select the slave unit will change
to master then you will have to set unit back on slave mode using your RC. Master unit must be further away from slave unit."

Make sense?
Sincerely,
make sense?

well i think if an RC unit is in slave mode
it SHOULD NOT respond to any remote

sensor on slave unit should deactivate when in slave mode

the way it is now makes it impossible to put 2 Mega Bar RC units (master/slave) in close proximity, as 1 remote alter both units, putting the slave into master, etc,
Ya. I understand but as of right now they only way to deactivate the sensor if the unit is in RC mode is to open the unit up and disconnect the cable from the Ir eye, which will void your warranty. Frowner
I will suggest to our R&D people to have a better method for this. In the mean time all I can say is I'm sorry.
Sincerely,
I would hope we can fix this issue in the future. As it seems that a lot of people may come across it. But it's up to the powers that be here. And they usually listen to us/you guys.
Maybe one day you can work for us. I had the same hope you had about 3 years ago. now look where I am at. Big Grin Keep the dream alive! haha.
Sincerely,
Well.........the IR receiver is on the front lens of the mega bar. In the place of one single LED diode. You would be putting a piece of tape on the front lens and depending on if it is crowd facing or not people would see a single piece of tape. Also because it is on the front lens who knows if the signal would slip around the tape and effect the slaves.
Just a thought.
Sincerely,
