Mapping with VDJ 7

You'll want to make sure of several things, Graham:

1: Set your VMS4 to 8 out on the front panel.

2: Set VirtualDJ to the advanced mode for soundcard channel selection.

3: Once you've done that, you'll have options to set "decks" to pairs of channels. Do so:

1 - 1/2
2 - 3/4
3 - 5/6
4 - 7/8

Note that at this point, it should work. However, you have a decision to make with the crossfading.

Personally, I just turn the crossfader off. I like fading each channel in and out individually.

However, if you choose to crossfade, remember two things:

1: The knobs on the front to select what channels are being faded are still in play.

2: Channels not selected by the knobs are on throughput.

Have fun! I'll try to make things clearer if I'm not being clear enough already. I'm not in front of my DJing system at the moment so I may have got some naming wrong.

I have done everything you have mentioned below but still have the same problems.

Do you change anything in the mapping, the only thing I canged was for deck 1 & 4, I input deck 1 select & deck 4 select.

You'll need to somehow map the selections for the active deck on each side as well. I was lazy and just stacked them on the cue mappings, which works but has a few quirks. However, I intend to remap the pitch bend buttons to them this week, maybe.

That mapping, however, would not cause 1 to come out your left speakers and 2 to come out your right. That's exceptionally odd. Did your system do this when it was in 2-deck mode?

Hi...not it works perfectly on 2 decks, just when i change to four decks.

how do you change mappings, im new to mappings, i used to use serato with 2 cdj's.

All mappings are done in the "mapping" tab in the config menu.

Could you screenshot your soundcard settings, perhaps, and paste them into this thread? I'd like to make sure that they're correct, as they're the most likely culprit for what you're describing.

The correct settings to use all of the 4 decks in vms4 for VDJ7 Pro: (try it) 1st: Set the skin to 4deck 2nd: Go to mapper, type in at the action learn tab CH1_PFL deck 3 select, CH2_PFL deck 1 select, CH3_PFL deck 2 select, CH4_PFL deck 4 select. 3rd and last: Advanced Configurations deck1-asiodriver-output 3&4, deck2-asiodriver-output 5&6, deck3-asiodriver-output 1&2, deck4-asiodriver-output 7&8.
