New to the lighting side of things and I have a few questions. Here is the lowdown. I currently run 6 P64 LED's, 6 Mega Par Profiles on the front and 18 Mega Par Profiles on the back. I am using mydmx to operate. My front is staggered P64, MPP, P64, MPP and so on. I am looking to use P64's as key light and will have them change color wise with stage but wanted to get a key light effect with MPP's. Looking to make some version of a white to give good facial lighting. Any suggestions or tips Throw distance is roughly 10-14' from light to face.

Good deal. I appreciate the advice. As for the setup what are your thoughts? I realize the MPP's may not be intended for this application (or may) but I am somewhat using what I already own. My Mai. Purpose is to provide plenty of light sources to split into halves or quarters so I might run some static and others chase and occasional strobe for others. Any input from some vets would be appreciated. Sorry to seem so green but I am.
I would appreciate any ideas as for lighting. I have done my best to read everything I can find and I have done a bit of trial and error in the garage. (Looks like aliens have landed) I have spent a lot of time figuring out the mydmx software which is in depth to say the least. But given that my knowledge is primarily in sound I haven't messed with lighting much. Wanting to just set some scenes set up that will emphasize slow medium and fast music and maybe some audio sensitive. But please do make suggestions.
I haven't noticed it before but I also haven't had them hung close together before so it is a possibility but I would think I would have caught it. I will recheck addresses when I get home. Also this may be a no no but do people share scenes they have made? Like is said earlier I am new to lighting and extremely new to dmx. I have been trying to build a few scenes and not doing the best as far as do this for a bit then this and so on. I am going to try and upload a pic to my PC when I get home. Thought I could attach it from my phone but not having any luck. Anyway if they do share does anyone have a few scenes for the MPP's?
Honestly I am looking for whatever. Mainly used for community festival stuff and hippie festivals (my favorite) but I am open to ANY help that is offered. At his point I have nothing and shows starting this weekend and booked for next 3 Two of them being 3 day festivals where we will provide he effects lighting more than the stage lighting. The other we are doing it all.
Lighting programming doesn't always require so much thinking, sometimes just plant your ass in a chair and fog the place up, turn on the computer and just program things. Play them back, see what looks good, what doesn't. Try to build onto things you have and make them better.
watch some concert DVDs from shows, anything from pop to country. you tube some of the Justin Timberlake 20/20 tour etc.
Be a sponge...
I'd like to check in and let you know first show went off without a hitch. Did have issues with mydmx freezing when I tried to use the editor function. Otherwise on a 30x40 stage we ran 16 MPP and 2 fat beam lasers on the back hang, 3 Led 64's on side hangs (3 each side) and 16 par 64's on Front hang. Along with Dyno fog and and an H2o pro and 6 MPP used for actual up lighting. Obviously not all running at same time but had way more light than needed. In the end it made for very flexible scene building. MPP's really suprised me regarding the amount of wash they provided. One question I do still have is can I set MPP's to strobe or flash with sound and the. Stay blacked out after burst. Say like a scene where kick was used to trigger half the back hang to white or another color.
