I don't even have time to muck with the HTP/LTP issues, because frankly, the mouse is a crappy method of control, especially when it's a track pad and you've got your hands full with audio and video and all sort of other insansity to deal with, but this isn't an off-topic/side topic rant.
Using a MIDI controller to help with MyDMX(I'm looking to buy one!!), then HTP/LTP can become a bigger issue, because you'll want to take control of something on the fly. Or, if you're a dedicated and "non-distracted" lighting operator. Either way is good.
Look at how the term is stated: LTP: Lowest Takes Priority
HTP: Highest Takes Priority.
"Takes Priority"
I think the only issue might be as this appears to be a "global setting", you'd want to probably make the changes as applicable to what is going on.
But do understand my mindset on MyDMX, at least based on my implementation. I use MyDMX to first design, and granted, my designing ain't spectacular. It might win an award for "Crappiest lighting design in a small event application", but it does get the job done. Is that the fault of MyDMX? Sure ain't. It's MY issue, I am a sound guy, not a lighting guy. After my basic designing and organization, I simply use MyDMX for scene triggerig, no mods. It isn't perfect how I do things, but it is quick and gets the job done.
It is also entirely possible that in "user" mode, HTP and LTP do not function. user mode seems strictly scene based, but they do show the faders, so who knows. There must be a reason behind that.
Honestly, I don't have a real-world application for those features yet, but I can certainly see a necessity for such features. Maybe one day when I get a lighting tech, that person can dink with it.
