Reboot with the hardware disconnected. Plug it in AFTER you're all booted up but BEFORE you run MyDMX.
*****I tried this and no change****

Use a better USB cable. Seriously, the included cable isn't that great.

**** I Bought the best cable i could find Its a Pro Cord

Use a DMX terminator.

****** Got One at the end of the line

How long is your cable run? Are you plugging and unplugging stuff?

Yes, I am having the "lights going black" issue on Win7 64 bit. Identically as described by MusicManOntario.

I can rule out DMX cabling problems as I am using a wireless DMX sender with 4 separate receivers and the "blackout" happens on all fixtures.

The trigger seems to be when I try to bring up my ADJ LED Scans via the main slider page. But it doesn't always occur. AFAIK, it has never happened outside of adjusting the settings on the LED Scans.

I was using an older version of the MyDMX software (a 2010 version, I think), but have just upgraded to the latest June 2011 release after reading this forum. We'll see if that makes a difference.

I will also try running one of my remotes via hardwire to see if that makes a difference on the blackout if I continue having this problem (that would point to something in the DMX transceivers.)

It might be a month or 2 before I have a chance to get back with you to see if the updated software helps, but I suspect something inside MyDMX.

My setup:
4 Chauvet DFI-DMX transceivers
12 ADJ Par64 LED's
2 ADJ Par36 LED's
4 ADJ LEDScans
1ea Chauvet Vue II, III, IV
1 ADJ DMX Strobe
Win7 64-bit on an ASUS g51jx Laptop (12GB ram, 1GB gfx card, Core i7 16GHz)
Just to let you know, I am having the same problem with my controller. It usually only happens once about 10 minutes after we turn on the computer. This weekend it worked fine for the first show, but the second show it blacked out 5 times. Had to disconnect the USB and reconnect to get it to come back. Kinda embarrassing since we had a special guest in. Not sure what is going on, but it seems like the communication between the PC and the controller just stops. I am running the latest version (June 2011) on 64bit windows 7. I also have tried all of the tricks listed above with no luck.

Thanks,
Greg

What about the midi thing ??

Is that also going to be fixed ?

I have a Allen & Heath 4D Midi Controller.
I use it with VirtualDJ on midi channel 8.
The A&H 4D has a shift function that lets you chance midi channels during dj'ing, so that you can have a new layer of buttons one midi channel below the one I use in VDJ (channel 7 in my case).

I thought i could use this to control Mydmx via the learn command, but nothing happens ??
It's like MyDMX doesn't see the midicontroller at all

Tried it with/without runng VDJ at the same time, but it's the same result.

Am i doing something wrong, or am I missing something here ??
One more thing.
I have some questions for you all if you would answer for me thanks. Can you guys test this on a laptop running off battery power only and see if the issue clears up? Does this happen a lot or just once every now and then? if it happens a lot can you try a older version date and see if the issue still is present? Let me know. Thanks.
Sincerely,
I'm currently testing different things in my garage. So far after changing out the usb cable it has blacked out once, I had to unplug the cable plug it back in to get it to work again. I did turn off all the USB Power savers. Also while reading your thread about unplugging the AC power while running my lights I went ahead and did this just now to see what happens will get back to you.

Kevin
