What do you think (lighting wise) would be the best system for a church to use? As in: scanners, colorchangers, moving heads. The church I attend is getting a makeover (finally!!!). I helped our sound tech design our sound system (2 15"'s, 2"12's, 1 dual 15" sub, 32ch mixer, 5 amps, 4 10" monitors). I got to design our lighting system, but I need some ideas for automated lighting. Nothing too complicated expensive. Something we can use for concerts, and such, and that can give us nice color washes. I was thinking 2 color changers, and 2 scanners. Any Ideas?

Ultra, I agree with you when churches have more than 4 intelligent lights that they use every sunday. Our church would only use them for concerts, special events, and the such. And we'd try to use the scanner as a followspot(maybe) but the color changers (in wash mode) would just wash color on a certain area.
I would not highly suggest American DJ equipment for a church with the exception of some of the higher end stuff like Ultra's and AutoSpots. Look at Elation Moving Head Color changers they would be good for washes. Also a simple controller like DMX Operator would be all that u need although, as always, a better controller will give u more options.
