I'm putting together the light show for a haunted house, and I need some advice. I have limited experience with lighting, and I have one shot to get this right.

I'm planning on doing a straightforward 110V setup, no DMX or anything funny, we're not going to get that far into it.

What I need to know is if the PL-4450 pin spot works from on 110V. I will have a bank of 2 8 channel basic on/off controllers for a total of about 45 elements.

FYI, other elements include:
x? plain old 40W lightbulbs (in lamps, and other set items)
x2 American DJ Roto Pod Moonflower effects
x6 Big Shot 45 watt strobe
x8 24" flourescent blacklights
x1 Fogstorm 700 (I know that I can only control the main power from the central location, and the monster in the scene will have to be trusted to not kill himself with fog, unless someone knows a way to extend that remote control about 40 feet)

If the pinspots will work, I'll be using 20 of them. If I have to go with par cans, probably 14 or 15 of those.

I also need someone to let me know if the moonflower listed above is suitable for constant duty. I know the manual says it is, but real world situations are different. It will be in a somewhat dusty environment. Will I have to have some sort of filtering for the airflow? It will run pretty much 6-10 hours a day.

We're also considering one of the flame effects, but I haven't had a chance to see one up close. Do they require a bit of distance to look realistic?

Thanks for putting up with a newbie with newbie questions. If anyone has any other ideas for other effects lights that would work for a haunted house, I'd like to hear them.

Pin spots would be used to highlight certain areas and distract the viewer from the ghoulie coming from the other side of the room. If you light up a closet door, no one expects the guy to come from behind the bookshelf.

I really don't want to use pars, because they put out too much light. Dark and creepy being the goal here. A pin sopt with a couple of gels stacked in front will dull the light well enough.

And yes, blacklight, fog, and strobes are a requirement. Big Grin
Re: controllers

They are similar to the SC-8FC. We've got 2 or 3 (not sure on the condition of the third - needs to be tested) non-AmericanDJ units rated at 1800W max, and a 15A fuse. These were donated by a local bar that went out of business. That's why it's a basic rig that shouldn't overload the switch units. That and it's supposed to be dark in there. Wink

Thanks for the info on the pinspots.
