What's up everybody!
I'll cut to the chase.
I'm looking at :
2 Epsilons
The Luna 4 Pack
And I think I need to add some white into the mix.
I currently have:
1 High Powered Strobe
1 Fog Storm 1200
1 12" Mirror Ball w/2 pinspots
1 Mystic-pretty beat up,but still works.
1 Vertigo-will be used for back up.
6 Par 56 color cans (I'd like to leave @ home)
2 8" beacons-not used except for drink specials at the club I work at.
A 8 channel Optima controller like the co-pilot.
I have a couple of T-Bar's and/or a standard Light truss.

Another question... 2 48" black lights will give much coverage? I've seen the 400w blacklights in action, but they aren't in my budget. I need new subs first.
I was also looking at the roto pods to add some white, but they are only 50 watts. I'm not looking to spend much more money, but I'd like to get away from my par 56s' but I also don't want to buy any color changers yet.
Please post your ideas...I need some help on this.
Thank ya very much!

2 48" black lights give pretty nice coverage for an average dance floor. A huge country bar here in town had them spaced about every 20 feet around a dance floor about half the size of a football field and they gave good coverage even though they were 20 feet up in the high ceiling!!! It's a more subtle effect than a UV cannon but still nice and can be left on much of the night.
I think I'm looking to get a pair and not four more lights to add for that. Like the roto pods, but they are only 50watt bulbs...Not bright enough are they?

Hi,
Just a quick word about wattage. In small fixtures for mobile applications wattage is important for several reasons. Most of the time available circuits are very limited (on or two wall sockets usually on the same breaker) but the most important factor is the design of the fixture. Many fixtures with a 50-watt lamp are much "brighter" to the eye than that of a fixture with a 100-watt lamp. Factors include: lamp type, and optics in the fixture, and focus point. Just like a small engine in a light car with HIGH TOURQUE is faster than a large engine with low torque (especially off the line)
You really need to judge by seeing the lights. Smiler
You'd be surprised at the Roto-Pod lights. I have 2 of them and use them quite a bit. Only 50 watts, however they seem to do the job. You will lose a bit if you put coloured gels in them, but if you use them for just the white lights in them they will be bright enough. You can always get the Dicro dishes that have colored mirrors in them if you want them with color, or just get the Color-Pods. I really like these lights. I just ordered 2 of these myself along with 2 Active-Pods which also have a colored mirror inside. I highly recommend the Pod Series for an inexpensive effect, and when you start to group them together they really look sharp. I use them in halls that hold up to 200 people with no problem as far as brightness goes. They are bright enough. Also I'm going to be getting 2 Centurians. You might want to check these babies out. Saga is another nice light, as is the new H2O which I also might be getting very shortly. Hope this helps a bit.

The ORbitron looks very cool...however I am not usre if that is in your budget. Are you looking for more of a special effect light? Because maybe get a pair of oscillating heads and remove the colors. Or how about some beacons...get clear domes.
Here is the link for he orbitron and the oscillator, and the beacons

If I think of anything else...I will let you now.

I have found that with a mobile setup the best place to put those 48" blacklights is to hang them vertically from the truss so they hang down in front of the crankstands...or tripod stands whichever, they project pretty decent and are outta the way to free up space for more lights.
