Light Copilot LC-100 Controller Cable?? :(

By accident I hooked up a straight thru serial DB9 cable to the Copilot controller setup. Did I ruin the LC100 controller? I'm going to go down to the store today and buy the right one but need to know am I screwed? I have a gig today and really hope the new cable will make it function again. I was hoping the low voltage design will save me. Anyone else done this before

Just so everybody knows, the cable is a standard DB9 with straight pin out. Nothing special at all about this cable from ADJ. My controller was bad. Gotta get it fixed.
