Korg PadKontrol Midi for MyDMX with Vista x64

I have MyDmx succesfully running on my Vista 64 bit laptop. I recently thought it would be cool to get my PadKontrol connected as a surface controller (mainly just using the pads to call up scenes. I have the drivers for the Padkontrol installed and its recognized on my computer. I am only using the PadKontrol with the MyDmx software and nothing else. When I try to assign a midi command to a scene it never sees the command. Any suggestions ?

I have confirmed that the Korg Padkontrol is working and able to send and recieve midi system info to and from its own librarian/editor software. So I know it is installed correctly. But when I try to send a midi signal to MyDmx, it just says waiting ....
I know the korg nano products work with MyDMX by reading other posts. I am suspecting my problem is more of an issue with Vista. Just didnt know if there was a workaround because i have no way to upgrade to Windows 7 on this pc at this time.
