First download a WiFi analyzer. I’m using “WiFi Monitor” on an Android tablet. The app shows detailed information regarding WiFi networks. Does your Airstream show? Is it set to a ‘free’ channel?

If so, then switch WiFi off and set your iPad to “airplane mode”. Both back on and try again. Or restart your iPad.

My advice: buy an access point, connect the Airstream to the access point and connect your iPad to the 5Ghz network of the (dedicated) access point. The 2.4Ghz is often overcrowded…

You can connect to the Airstream over USB and a laptop. Download one of the apps from ADJ web page for Windows or Mac to do it. From the app you will be able to check the internal settings of the Airstream to see if something is not set correctly. There is a setting that let's you hide the network from other devices so to connect you have to know the network name and password. That is there in case you don't want it to show up on other phones when at a venue.
