ADJ's conventional party lights (sound activated and dumb ones) don't seem to
blow up as easily as you'd think.
I want to buy new lighting but selling them
will give me only pennies on the dollar and you can't throw them away just because the bulbs burn out. What is there to do?
I have ADJ lighting that I bought from 1997-99
and 80% of them still work:
(4) SPARKLES---bulbs burn out, but the motors don't quit. In fact, I'm so tired of these,
I use them for Halloween lighting for my yard
and after spinning for hours, you'd think the motors would burn out, but they just keep on moving, like old man river.
SNAPSHOT---you'd think after dropping it 5-6 times on a dance floor, it would crack into pieces.
ROTOSHERE--though a bit more fragile than
say a Sparkle, this thing is still on the original
bulb, turning at a 33 1/3 RPM. I may like to keep this thing its like a mirror ball.
(2)VERTIGO II's---though more interesting than a regular Vertigo, I've seen enough. But these 2 havent stopped churning to the music
since 1997, though went through a couple sets of bulbs.
CHAMELEON---this unit has been kicked, dropped and had beer spilled on it, yet it
keeps working. Its made in USA so maybe
that's why the housing is so thick. Anyway,
it bores me but man, its seems like its not
going to die. I used it for several parties where
I left it on for 3 hours straight and no problems.
QUANTUM---I dropped it and luckily I just smashed the mirror wheel. I replaced it with
a multi-colored Sparkle wheel and it works fine. Only had to change the bulb once and applied WD-40 to the stuck rotating gobo.
I like this effect, it looks like an intelligent knockoff I may keep this.
(2)BARREL RAYS---I had them mounted on
a truss which fell and the 2 ended its lives crashing down on cement and smashing the barrels and bending the housing. (sad or funny--I plugged one in afterwards, and the barrel, smashed to hell, still wanted to move
to the beat of music) They worked well for 5
years until their un-timely deaths.
FOG HOG---cleaned it twice, let a friend borrow it and came back with a burned out
pump.
American Dj conventional lighting products
lasts, I guess they are made well for us mobile Dj's because mine have outlasted
my 1997 car.
