You have the dmx values set too far apart. The signal is looking for the fixtures between 1 and 17. I have mine set at 4,11,18,25 on an automate and they work great. I tried setting them different to see if they would act differently but they just went whacko. Hope this helps. Also for an awsome effect, if you have the time to set up early, try putting one pocket in each corner of your dance floor and pointing them all to dead center. If you set the dmx values right they make an awsome tornado patter in stand alone mode...no controller.

I have to apologize, I was possibly incorect on the dmx values for your pocket scans. The values depend on what controller you're using. Most controllers have a polarity switch on the back that you can check. Also if you're using long runs of dmx cable you might need a terminator on the last fixture. Sorry
