Basic question here, but I just have to ask.

Many fixtures on the mid to high end of the market have what are called 'indexing gobos'.

What exactly does the term 'indexing' refer to and how does this differ from regular gobos? Does it affect programming, performance, or both, etc?

The difference between rotating gobos, and indexing rotating gobos is that indexing gobos use a stepper moter, you can rotate the gobo to any position you want. For example: Say you have an arrow gobo you can program where you want the arrow to point(you can program how many degrees you want the gobo to rotate.)

Unfortunalty indexing gobos means more money
