Not going for anything so much as trying to break it up. Was very flat and people can only look at blue wash on stage so many times before they are sick of it. I will have to post a video of Guys and Dolls when i get a chance, the Crab Shooters Dance and Luck Be a Lady came out awesome.
Interesting concept. I can't take advantage of that because I don't have the right type of lights, but that's a good idea to keep in the back of my mind.

The show I'm working on uses a lot of colors to identify with characters. It does get a bit bland, so I see what you mean. What I do is vary the color on the follow spot, or use a different accent color on the Mega Bar 50's. Not quite as effective though.
Yea, I use it all the time. In church scenes, I will often do something with glass gobos to make it look like light is coming through a stained glass window. For woods scenes, I often use leaf break ups like this:


This was more of a sun coming through the window type thing:


Both of those were static gobos in lekos though.
