for "Full house tonight"

Checked out the Magic 260....love the unit, but not the price. Nice looking controller. I think the OP 192 is more my speed and budget, but for 350 more..hmmm? The Compulive Software is nice as well, but need to buy a separate laptop..wouldn't I? Currently I already have a laptop for my Serato Scatch Live software. Can you do both on the same laptop...would seem difficult?

Does the compulive do videos/visulization???

Can the OP 192 control non-dmx lights much like the Magic?

Just starting to get into DMX. Was a loyal Chauvet customer, but finding out that American DJ has the latest and greatest light effects. Own the Vue 3, but ADJ Revo? version is better.

Any major problems or negatives/cons with the OP 192 that I should know about?

I'm only a mobile DJ in a small country town of 40,000 in the NW and can't imagine using more than 12 intel lights. If I lived in Seattle...that would be different.

the only con with the op for me is the fact that i cannot make individual fade and hold times. once u set it to a time it will stay the same through out the chase untill u adjust it. and yes the op can control non dmx with a dimmer/switch pack as you would need for the magic 260 aswell for no dmx lights. not too sure about running both at the same time. could slow the comp down. so i would go seperate laptop but that is just me. compu live does videos and a 3D visualizer to hekp u put it all together when your not by you lights. check out my other youtube channel.

Just a comment from me.
Another option available with the Operator192.

If you went down the MIDI route, you can pre-record as many chases as you'd like.... have different speeds present in a chase, (not fades) and duration as long as you want - not limited to 240 steps.

The MIDI route requires;

1) MIDI programming software,
2) a MIDI hardware transmitter,
3) and the cables to join them together.
4) a MIDI song player to take with you to events....

THEN the Operator192 is totally controlled by the MIDI song you create...., and turns on or off ANY of the Operator192's scenes,built-in Op192 chases, blackout, audiotrig etc... indefinately... length depends on MIDI song you create.

If you have 1000 MIDI songs of any length .... you have 1000 chases of any length.
You are only limited by the Op192's 240programmable scenes memory.....

I have done this succesfully with Logic Audio s/w and the Emagic AMT8, and of course my Operator192.

I will, when I can, video this setup and post a link for the video which I'll put on YouTube for all to see working.
