Hey guys, I have a couple of fog machines, they take the small 3 prong like would go into the back of your computer, i believe they're called IEC. As i'm sure most of you here have learned that these normally come with a 5ft cabled controller, and the cable unplugs from the back of the fog machine.

My problem is that I need to run that controller all the way to a sound booth and its a lot further than 5 ft away.

Have any of you come across any answers to this problem?

Would splicing and soldering into an xlr and then converting it back into the IEC cable work? Would it maintain its signal?

I've had some trouble finding the right converters.

Wondering what you guys have done, thanks.

OO yes I have 2 of those kinda machines that Ive used for a small application before. Depending on the brand, the company that makes the ones I have makes a wireless remote control for the machine. You might wanna check with the manufacturer if such a thing exists. Ive never tried the splicing thing either. It might also be a good idea to see if they have any suggestions in case the remote doesnt exist. Ill check mine too and see if they have any suggesitons. Good luck!
