I just brought the ol' fog machine out of the basement and boy do I have problems. The is "minumal" output as opposed to the 10,000 cu feet I am used to. Through various tests, I have determined that the pump works fine. The block must be in the heater.

It has been sitting for about 6 months, and no I don't have any cleaner so I am sure there are bad mineral deposits.

How easy is it to clean the heater, and do you have any suggestions of things I can do to try to clean out the deposits. I will be investing in some cleaner if I get this to work. But I am sure the cleaner won't "clean" it now, I think I'll need to clean it by hand, then uses the cleaner from now on to prevent this mess.

So,....how easy is it to get the heater out/clean it.

Thanks A Bunch

I am not an expert on how fog machines work...but for those of you who know more about them...is it possible to run water through the machine? I mean put reguar tap water into the the machine let it heat up and let the machine run...and see if the hot water "melts" the build up and deposits? Don;t do this until it is approved by someone who knows more than I do. One of my friends said he did this and it seemed to do the trick...but before you do this does anybodyhave any info if this would damage themachine?

From what I was told, if you don't want to buy cleaner, you can use water. But it must be "distilled" so there are NO trace elements in it. But I am not sure about that. Because I did have a "Fog Hog Vapourizer" from AMDJ and I used it for one show, ran great, then I used to distilled water before I put it away. The next day the thing was busted and I had to sent it back to AMDJ.
Well I tried "CLR" "a must outside", and it is still as clogged as it has been, so I do not know if vinigar will to the trick but I will try.

Just wondering, in some of the posts I have read "manually clean the heater"...how is that accomplished, because that is what I need?

Thanks
The term is "douching" the fogger... Running about 1 cup of vinegar with about a gallon of water thru the fogger should clean it out a bit... I had an old F150 amdj fogger that set for quite sometime and it needed the same thing... try running that thru about 5-6 heater core reheats and that should work.... If not, feel free to e-mail me...
Actually I am so ****** at it that it's just sitting out in the garage now. Fortunatly I started it up last night and it worked a little better. So like said above, hopefully if I try a few more reheats it might clear out whatever has decided to make a permenant home in my heater.
