Firmware update to make the mouse pad send MIDI signals (even if SHIFT isn't pressed)

Hello,

I know there have been zero firmware updates to the VMS4.1 (as it's nice and stable) but _if_ there is one would the American Audio developers consider giving an option to change the behaviour of the mouse pad and mouse buttons to give MIDI signals by default?

I know they send MIDI notes if you hold down shift, but I don't want to ever use it as a mouse pad and always use it to control features of my DJ software.

Alternatively, any chance of making the firmware open source so the uesr community can make tweaks?
