FC 400 Questions

OK, I'm new at the whole DMX controller thing. We have a FC 400 with two ******* DMX 35 dimmer packs trying to run 6 par 56 (300 watt) and two pin spots. The "manual" with the FC 400 is so vague I can't understand what the different programs are supposed to do. I would be happy just to get it to all come on at once and stay on till I'm ready to turn it off. I really don't need all the chase junk. Did I buy the wrong controller? Do I really need a terminator at the end of the second DMX 35 dimmer pack? HELP...............thanks

You press the full on pedal to turn them all on... Or put it in Master dimmer mode(by stepping mode till it reaches the right program), and use the up and down pedal to fade bright/low.
