It probably wouldn't be a bad idea Jim, since we get a lot of the same questions and generally start with the same answers. Real DMX cable, terminators, plugging fixtures into wall power vs dimmers, etc etc. Myself as well as others I am sure would be more then willing to help contribute to such a sticky.
I think this is a good idea, and we've tried in the past to make something happen and it's not really come together well enough.

I think the concept should be more of a "sticky" that is the "FAQ" itself, or rather a FUQ. Maybe even a FUQ-U(frequently unresearched question-Ultimate). I think there should be a submission which can be as simple as a posting that has "good value", and then that is then added to the FUQ/FAQ.

These things work best when a small select group of people(even with good contributors) administrates it. Otherwise, they tend to get disorganized and useless only from the lack of organization.

I'm certainly willing to contribute, asi think I have been. But I'm just not in a position to be able to help admin the document.

There is definately a need. The manual is good, but people are thinking outside the original concept behind MyDMX. These other concepts people are throwing into the forum are largely good other applications for MyDMX, and it is through working to address those ideas that the FAQ will really evolve and come to life. Lots of people have come up with good usable solutions.

At the same time, we're sick of seeing the same questions over and over again. The bottom like is that no matter what you do, they'll still ask because it's often quicker to ask and get an answer. I for one do get tired of answering the same questions over and over again, but I understand the mindset. If I'm in a hurry, I ain't got time to filter through a FAQ to find the answer, especially if I may be phrasing the question "wrong" and a search fails. Answer, direct to FAQ and move on.

So, I take it we've all be tasked with having to go FAQ ourselves?

(PLEASE DO NOT READ THIS POST OUT LOUD AT WORK!!!)
