Being working with DMX on and off for 15 years and have programmed DMX on consoles for theatre, live and club, so not a newbie on DMX or simple DMX software but this one has got me puzzled. bought MYDMX 4 weeks ago as I am now working on new lights at my latest residency (I'm a DJ, going on 20 years now, ewww thats a long time). Right, had some pretty simple ideas for designing the lights at the bar club. Keep it simple, nbut striking is my way. Installed are 4 x Showtec Phantom 250 Spot (yokes)(running advanced 14 channel DMX), 2 x Robe 150 Clubroller (drum scanners), 3 x Martin Robocolor III systems and 12 LED par cans, Color changers and par cans only for mood lighting, mood emphasising. Everything patched up good, all lamps controllable so thats good. Now using EFX generator I am trying to create some smooth moving sinus wave based movements over the floor with the yokes. All is well in the 3D visualliser, looks great. Everything meets my SIMPLE requirements. Variating colors according to plan, different fade times, causing different move speeds, amplitudes increasing movement and so on.
Now here's the puzzle: My fine tilt and pan faders are going stark crazy. The run up and down like a kangaroo on a pogo stick. This is not visable in 3D, but in real life it causes havoc to the light movements. Tried turning fade times right down, but still have more erratic movement than smooth planned sweeps? Confused

Now I have 2 possible solutions:

1. I will try using the "fader static" button on my next call at the club. It's a restuarant by day, so limits my accessability, combined with my day job. But I figure, that should cancel any faded transitions (generated effects), as that is what it does??

2. Ask you to create a 10 channel profile for the Showtec Phantom 250 (Basic Mode) were fine tilt/pan are not in use! And some internal macros are disabled, but I don't use them so not neccesary. See following DMX.
1 Pan
2 Tilt
3 Colors
4 Rotating Gobo's
5 Rotating Gobo Index
6 shutter¨
7 Dimmer
8 Built in program & sound control
9 Prism
10 Focus

I can mail the full spread to you, but can't find the link.

I hope you can help solve my problem, as I am at the end of my wits here. Think I have tried everything and hope you can help Smiler

Maybe in the profile the channels for fine and 8 bit are reversed so the program is moving the fine faders as it normally would but it is actually sending dmx to the non pan channels. make sense? If you want send me the 10 channel profile (jamesk at americandj dot com) and a link to the product page or a scan of the traits from the manual I can confirm this theory and adjust the profile.
Welcome to the forums.
