Hello Everyone

I'm working with a set of ADJ intelligent lights and some led color strips in RGB mode. I would like to use the effect manager to create a single sequence that controls both fixture types. When I use the effect manager with both the intelligent lights and the strips selected, it only shows the traits for the intelligent lights. If I only select the strips, their attributes then show up in the effect manager.

Does effect manager only work with one fixture type at a time?

If it only does one fixture type at a time, what is the best method to combine steps from multiple sequences in a single sequence?

I'm running Win7 64 bit.

Well I have patched in two DJ Spot LED's and 2 ColorStrip in RGB mode and i went into the effect generator and on advanced tab I see options for pan tilt dimmer color shutter gobo p/t speed Red Green and Blue.

color mixing tab works fine with the RGB channels from the strip. Same with Gradient and the Pan/Tilt Effects.
So I guess I cannot replicate your issue. Care to post a screen shot?
Sincerely,
I'm actually using the mini RGB strips in a different mode right now where channel one is a set of color presets and the second channel is a virtual shutter/strobe. Because the DJ spots and the strips both have attributes for color and shutter, I have renamed these channels with a prefix to indicate fixture type using the scan library editor. For example, the "color" channel on the DJ Spots is now "DJ color" and the "color" channel on the strips is now "Mini color." The hope was that if I renamed these attributes to be fixture specific, each fixture would have their own setting under the advanced effects tab instead of having the color controls for both the dj spots and the RGB strips lumped into one.

If I start the effect manager with only the dj spots selected, here's what the advanced tab looks like:

However, if I start the effect manager with both the RGB strips and the dj spots selected, something weird happens. I get the three attributes from the RGB strips, but I only get four attributes from the dj spot and the other three are lost:

I do have separate control of the color strips when they are placed in RGB mode, just like in your last post. However, I'm currently using the strips in color preset mode.

This mode has a channel on the strips named "color" which is a set of presents and a channel named "shutter."

Because the dj spots have a "color" and "shutter" channel as well, the effect manager lumps both fixture types into a single control under the advanced tab. I suppose that was the way it was designed, but it presents an issue: What if I want to use different parameters for the different fixture types? This was the original reason why I began to mess around with the naming of the attributes.

For example: what if I wanted, during the same scene, for the color channel on the DJ spot to run on a slow triangle and the preset color channel on the the color strips to run a fast pulse?

If I want this type of control, do I have to run the effect generator separately for each fixture type and then manually merge the steps together to form a single scene?
If you ran the effects generator separately then you will have two different effects playing individually. There really is no easy way to merge the effects together. I think maybe the mode of the fixture that you picked and the effect you are trying to do is too advanced for my dmx. My dmx is really just a simple software control solution.
