It is LED so it won't give a true UV like a UV Wash or mercury vapor lights will. For example, the LED will give off a purple, visible light and the Wash/mercury vapor won't. So if you are looking for an effect in which only white and UV reactive material light up, stay away from LED UV. If you don't mind a purple light, are looking for a purple light, and/or are using it with other lights to make whites/uv reactive glow, then LED will work fine. UV sources will also make UV stuff glow with other lights on as well, but no additional visible light is given off.

In the following video, UV is on throughout the scene after the lights come up and you can see the UV stuff glowing (mainly with the camera down low since the one up high is not as good and as such has its iris open too much).
