I'd also like to add a question to the question, in case someone who knows would like to answer...
Can a third 5ft section be added to the Dura Truss? I am looking to retire my LTS-50T that I use 3 sections of the 5ft truss, so I need to replace it with something capable.

Thanks

Dan
All of the descriptions I've read about that particular trussing says that you can connect up to 3-five foot sections together without the use of couplers. So that'll give you the 15ft span you're looking for. But please verify that with the exact item you plan to order.

Only thing is, Dura Truss is no longer made. As far as I know, ADJ now uses Global Truss. But I have seen lots of Dura Trussing in online auctions (although I'm not sure about the mounting holes part). You could probably snag two nice crank-up stands as well.

OK- this sounds ok so far, but I haven't seen a .pdf on this from American DJ to support if they recommend 3 sections. I imagine 3 sections is ok to do, but I think my liability insurance company would have a hard time backing me if the thing came down on some people and they found out I was using the truss inappropriately.
Also- what is the diameter of the pipes on the truss? I have loads of the O-Clamps on my lights to fit the ole LTS-30/40/50 series truss. Will they work on this one. The truss looks like 3/4" OD by the pictures. DJ-amp, you have one in the store, can you tell what clamps will work with this Dura Truss.

Thanks

The truss sections look quite different in person... the are solid, not hollow, so they are about 1/2" thick. I dont think your O clamp will work. I'm using the C-Clamp style clamps to hang my pocket scans. I marked off where I want them to be by wrapping electrical tape around the beam about 5-6 times. So It wont s c r a p e up the steel and cut your hand, also so I know where they go. There are also about 6 or so mount points on each truss section. I hang 2 DJ Spot 250s on the ends, then 4 pocket scans in the middle, and behind the scans I have a TracPod 30 (Elation) moounted facing downward to light the drum kit. Used this set up this weekend for the first time. Went well Smiler About 1000watts total power draw and I have all the cables pre-ziptied to the truss, so I just mount the fixtures and the plugs are there. 1/2 hour to set it up after I carried all the cases in the bar.
