does LED lighting fade in colour??

Ok, I bought 6 megapanels in nov 2008 along with 2 megabars.. I just ordered 10 more and set them up for the first time yesterday. I matched the RGB setup in MYDMX and noticed that the older lights were a shade lighter than the new ones although one side of the room was old lights and the other side new lights (up-lighting effect).

Is this my eyes? is this a fade in colour over time OR are the new units more improved in LED technology etc?? any ideas

I don't think they would fade after just two years if at all. Do you have any pictures of this?

They are most likely using slightly different components and/or LEDs. This is a common problem when LED fixtures are sent out for repair. I have seen it on many different types of fixtures from a wide range of companies. Now, the normal eye might not notice it but it drives me completely insane.

Never took any images but i have a great eye for colour matching. In this case it was definitely different, I will try and take a picture and see if it shows up.

Thanks SerraAva, I think you're right, the only way to prove it is to put them side by side :-)
