Hey People,
I bought a DMX Operator II in 2002 and 2 Pocket Scans. I like them- and it's the only thing I have the controller operate right now. The banks are all full of scenes which I use to chase through the scenes (auto or music mode). When I don't want them on, I just hit blackout.
For the rest of my plug n play lights (Lotus, Mystic, pinspots (on a CC2016), reflections, color wheel, sparkles, starball II, fiesta & microbrite) I use the ol trusty SC8FC.

Now, the question I have is if I switch to a couple packs like the PP-DMX20L, can I run those non-intelligent lights as I do currently (I turn them on when I want them, off when I don't) at THE SAME TIME as the pocket scans are doing their miscellaneous chases using the DMX Operator II?

**I use the micro-brite as a "punch" effect on the crowd when they all do "Y-M-C-A". So there's a white light effect just for those 3 seconds. If the pocket scans are chasing at the time, how can I keep that going and initiate the micro-brite for the short-term?
I use the micro-brite as an example, but once answered, it will tell me how I'd do this idea with all the other lights currently on the SC8.***

So, would I be better off with 2 DMX operators? Or has anyone else mastered this?

Thanks-

Since no one else has chimed in, I'll give you a description of my setup.

I've got 4 pocket scans and 2 roller trons on an Operator II, along with 2 strobes and a Rascal plugged into a DMX relay pack. The relay pack has 4 channels that correspond to 4 pairs of outlets on the actual box.

While I have a chase or a bank running, I just select the relay pack's 'fixture' (in my case 7)and move slider 1 to turn on/off the rascal, 2/3 for the 2 strobes.

hope this helps a little,

DanR
