DMX control change?

I have just started to get involved in the lighting industry and do a small show for my friends band. I have had recent problems with my Chauvet Obey 70 and am thinking to convert to a laptop computer controlled DMX program. I was wondering what is a good basic program to fit my needs. I understand it's probably up to personal opinions but I was curious your experiences.

Hello Nate, Welcome to the forums. I would urge you to download my dmx and Compu live and test which one you think best suits your needs.
