DJ Spot 250 lamp question

Also, I checked the PDF instruction file for the DJ spot. It agrees with the spare parts page saying that the fixture should have a ZB-EHJ lamp.

Im pretty sure the lettering is just the product number for a certain brand (Example: Philips)
If its a 24V 250Watt it should have the same brightness and intensity But i could be wrong, i do know that if it has the letters M-S-D before it MSD usually is a gas discharge lamp which is a hell of a lot brighter.

So, would it be possible to put in a 24v, 250w MSD lamp in place of the standard ZB-EHJ one? Technically it should work, right? Since its the same volts and watts.

I think the MSD lamps are shaped differently, so they probably wouldnt even fit in the socket, and if it did it would not be good for the light because the DJspot was not designed to handle a gas discharge bulb, discharge lamps are brighter, therefor create more heat, The djspot wasnt designed to handle that much heat, the fixture would probably overheat.

An MSD discharge lamp will not work in the DJ Spot because discharge lamps require ballasts to make them work, and the DJ Spot does not have a ballast to drive a discharge lamp.

correct do not attempt to place a msd bulb in a dj spot 250.... will not work.
