the dj spot is a 250 watt moving head. it does not strobe. it has a "gobo" strobe where it goes back and forth from one gobo to the next. and the other"strobe" is the color strobe which is like the gobo strobe but just in colors. i was considering buying one of these but it seemed so limited! so i bought a performance scan 250 instead. same price as the dj spot. if you really want to know what these dj spots can do check out the video clip and then carefully read the manual. then you will know all that it can do. another member of this forum has these and loves them he might chime in here but maybe not. sincerly jingles!
Hello guys i have used all of these halogen lights before when i just started in the business but none of them seem to do what i wanted Frowner or delivered the performance Confused what i would recomend instead of the Dj spot would be the accuspot 250 it has all the features like ****** Mac 250 and similar also last week my 6 accuspots just embarrased 6 coemar prospot LX (USD2,500 each) the accuspots were brighter and the beam was white not beige like halogen, So at 800 USD maybe less you cant go wrong just go with accuspots you wont regret it. email me for pics

I've decided to get the Preformance Scan 250 but does any one the the amount of pan/tilt it has?

It dosent say on the ADJ Website Big Grin
The DJ Spot is a great light. If you are new to moving head fixtures, this would be your perfect "introduction" fixture. If you are a power user, you would be better off with the Accuspot. The disadvantage of moving head fixtures is you need a minimum of 4 to produce great results. I prefer 8, but my Mobile setup uses 6 (see below)

The DJ Spot has a movement of 540 pan / 265 tilt, while the Accuspot has a movement of 360 pan / 265 tilt. Big deal right? The extra pan can allow you to "rotate" the gobo longer than the Accuspot. When you program the rotate, at each change of rotation corrections, you change either the color, gobo, or both.

The "strobing" can be effective if you change the color and gobo every 6th or 8th "strobe". T

If you are using them primarily for mobile setups, go with the DJ Spot - they are 14 pounds lighter. For fixed installations, the Accuspot is a much better performer. The pan/tilt is much smoother and better on the Accuspot.

A note about performance - the performance you get out of your intelligent light depends on your controller. The more your controller can do (and do easily) and the better your controller is, the better your lights will respond. Plan on spending time programming shows in the controller -

The biggest difference to me is the noise - the Accuspots are significantly quieter than the DJ Spot.

For my mobile setup when I am up against a wall (no midfloor trussing),I run two DJ Spot 250s on the front angled leg of the speaker stand tripod. I use four Accuspots on top of the trussing, at a 45 degree downward angle. This gives great floor coverage when the limits are programmed for the dance floor. The speaker stand lights produce great "ambiance" lighting, but also function as a "blinder" if used too much.

If I have mid floor trussing, I will mount the four Accuspots on the corners, and four DJ Spots at the middle points.

Bottom line - the Accuspots are well worth the money.

Hope it helps
