I agree. Never heard of a trait for power off. What would you have to do? Hold the DMX value to stay off? That would merely be a "standby" mode. Bulb on/off and fade to zero, sure.

The standard method is to have some method of shutting off the fixture. This is often done by flipping the switch on the fixture(provided there IS a switch, which not all do). But it's not unusual to mount the lights in an area or method where getting to it isn't convenient. Do you really want to move a ladder a bunch of times to turn off lights or move a lift all over the place? In this scenarios, the best method is to pop breakers that are clearly labelled to kill power where not needed.

Also, many stores use a similar method as their lights aren't on switches, so they will pop breakers to shut off lights. Although, this mentality is starting to change through the use of adding more light switches.

When you need the lights, reset the breaker. The light will go through it's power on self test and diagnostics and you're good to go. You still want to get up there at least once a month to clean stuff as best you can. Don't forget about bulb changes unless it's LED fixtures.
