distortions!

maybe somebody can help me... i don't know if i'm doing something wrong, but i can't imagine that the vms4 can't play without distortions.

if i play some tunes i generally have no distortions, but sometimes they come without a reason! it seems like the distortions are coming if the vms4 is sending too many different midi-commands.

the only way i can reproduce the distortions every time is if i press the most left and most top endless knob for example. (see youtube link at bottom)

some infos: i am running in post-eq mode. i have a new laptop with a dedicated xp with almost NO latency! the latency-setting in the asio-driver is 18ms. the deck-gain is 0 - the master gain is -4db. i have tried it on 2 different laptops.

what firmware are you using for the vms4? 3.11?
if so download the 3.12 it stopped all my distortion problems.
cut and paste this link to the 3.12 firmware.

does the 3.12 firmware work for you on a windows-os with post-eq and 8-out mode??
becouse i had already the 3.12 firmware running with my xp-os - the problem was that i was not able to run it with 8-out mode, only 4-out... maybe it's working only with a mac??

@AA: is it possible to run the vms4 without distortions with this config: windows-os, post-eq, 8-out, traktor with pro-mapping (modifiers, led's,...)

Send me your TSI file when you pust that knob it the video what action takes place are you triggering an FX? this is not diver distortion I think you are activating an FX or and other action since the LED below it is turning on from Traktors MIDI return. does it happen on the Right side or when you press shifth and the same knob?

BTW NEDO you can use the 3.12 firmware on PC but out driver only runs @ 44.1 so you'll need a generic driver like ASIO4ALL.

to firmware: ah, that's the point... ok, i will try out a generic driver - i'll tell you the results

to other questions: here you can find my mapping. the knob has multiple functions (depending on fx-mode, modifiers, shift). it would be cool if you could try it out...
but as i mentioned earlier: i also have distortions when i just do nothing, but only sometimes (but also here, there is no latency)

...so... i've tested with your suggestion - it seems to be better now...
and i figured out that the distortion with the knob was becouse of the traktor command "send monitor state" - EVERYTIME i do the send monitor state it hangs for a second and makes some noise

do you know why the vms4 is not working with send monitor state, could it be that there are just too much led's addressed for him?
