Correct me if I am wrong but doesn't the LED Dummy simply block leak current that would cause LED fixtures to ghost on even if the dimmer was 'off'? Unless you have a sine wave dimmer (and they don't come in dimmer packs), you wouldn't be able to dim a LED fixture safely via a dimmer if at all. The butchered sine wave that a normal dimmer puts out would cause a LED to strobe/flicker when dimmed. The LED Dummy, being basically a 2000 ohm inline resistor, wouldn't fix this although it might smooth it out a little more.
Here is what the wave looks like with a dimmer at 50%:

You aren't going to smooth that out with a resistor. Only thing that can help is a capacitor and that is beyond a capacitor at that point. The green line is what a sine wave dimmer does to the wave. As you can see, no bumps which means it should dim evenly. That butchered wave is also what causes lamp sing, that buzzing you hear from lamps when they are between roughly 90% and 10%, the worst being around 50%.
Sorry for being so insistent but it troubles me so much. Here is another thought for the topic: why it is possible to do smooth color transitions in Chauvet COLORstrip which is also a LED light fixure? And a solid light there could also be dimmed by regular DMX controller.
What device this box contains that PinSpot does not? Could it be added to PinSpot?
Thank you.
You know what I apologize, I gave out some bad information. The LED dummy can only be used like Serra ava is saying. it will NOT dim the Pinspot. In fact pin spots aren't really even supposed to dim, not the traditional ones and not the LED ones. The only thing close to what you want that we make is the LED Beam Scan: http://www.americandj.com/Prod...nId=2&Category=L.E.D.
Or my personal favorite, the Event Bar: http://www.americandj.com/Prod...nId=2&Category=L.E.D.
Those are the only things we make that are pinspot and the LED's dim. Other than that there is no way I know of to make your current LED Pinspot dim.
Sincerely,
