First, let me say that I am impressed with the support from this forum and from the American DJ support peoples. This is why I am leaning toward American DJ equipment.

I am looking for some dimmer packs for theatrical stage productions.

I like the modularity of the DP-12xx. I am assuming the DP-1210's are the older versions of the DP-1219's. Does anyone have information as to the usefulness and longevity of the DP-1210 in the dimmer/relay type of application? Any ideas where I could obtain a manual on the DP-1210?

Also, what type of longevity could I expect from a DP-DMX20 when running a full 600 watts per channel through it?

I appreciate your input. Cool

I've used the DP-DMX 20L's for about three years. I would NOT use them for day in day out theatre use. They are cool packs and all but I've had some small quarks with them a few times that would question their reliability long term.

For theatre stuff my a dimmer rack from a reputible company that stocks parts all the time. If your dimmer gets struck by lightning and you lose 4 of 12 channels. You need a manufacturer that can overnight parts for your dimmer before your show.

Theatre stuff, stick with a nice long term reliable company: Strand, Colortran, Leprecon, ETC, NSI has some nice 1,200 watt per channel dimmers. American DJ/Elation is cool and all, but I wouldn't buy something that I would keep long term. There are 25 year old analong Leprachon dimmer racks still touring today.
