I always come here with problems. Sorry. At least it's not a strobe, dimmer pack or fog machine problem. I think this one has a cure already.

I bought a name brand trussing system from a company that makes music stands. I don't know how much I can say before the censor-matic kicks in and hoses stuff up.

At any rate, the trussing system included a 10-foot truss(2 5" sections) and 2 T-bars. It looks like the LTS-50T system, and perhaps it is identical, but not quite. Maybe multiple companies silkscreen their logo on it before they resell it. Using a ruler, I have determined the truss diameter and tripod stands to be 1.5" in diameter.

I recently bought a pair of crankable stands, but those were unfortunately 1 3/8", not 1/5". They aren't going to work out. Period. Couple that with a knob broken, and well, it's dangerous now as well.

Main concern is looking at the Crank 2 stand, I take it is all black. My main concerns are that it is going to be compatible with my existing stuff, but MAINLY the truss part. I don't really wannt to buy another truss unless it gets me the 2 crank stands for cheaper. I am retaining the older tripods for the T-bars since I'm changing my stage lighting configuration, but want T-Bar options for the truss stand tripod tops.

I don't think weight is a concern. What I want to put on this stand is as follows:
Trilogy
Double Twist
Mystic
Sunray III
Small Strobe.
Fog storm.
8" mirror ball with heavy duty AC motor and 2 PL-1000's
Reflex
Electra
Rover II
Barrel Flex
2 Par38's
2 dimmer packs, let's just say Aviator SP-8s just for weight consideration and taking up the clamps on the other fixtures.

I think I am OK on weight. Any comments or suggestions?

New State set-up:
Putting effects lights on the backline with the truss and crank stands.
Using the older stands with the T-bars for 4 each Par38's to light the stage up, these will be on the sides of the stage.
Not perfect, but cleaner lines.

Gotta run. Thanks. Any retailers, let me know, gotta buy fast.

ok man I have a crank 2 system and it is great, plus to buy the 2 stands by themselves are kinda... a waste, for like 50 bucks more u can get the whole system.

The crank 2 system holds tones... lol I have so much stuff on mine,

2 blinders
4 pocket scans
1 vertigo
1 polaris
1 electra
1 mega strobe 750
12 four foot double tube flouresent black light tubes.
disco ball
2 par 38 for disco ball

which is like 140 pounds or something i dont remember but is around that, and cranks up with ease!

go for it!

Just don't need a second span, it's simply not going to be used. I already have one.

Main thing is just to ensure that they are in fact 1.5" diameter so I don't have to go through the horrible ordeal I went throught with the other stands.

140 pound capacity isn't going to be an issue. With all the stuff I load on it, it's all full, not really any room for anything else, which is fine for now, I think I'm all done with needing more lights for the time being.
Just an update:

I just ordered a Crank-2 trussing system. Rather annoyed that my local retailer won't take my call. As stated, just needed the crank stands, but alas, I can't find a retailer after 50 calls that would sell me just the stands. So, I've got a whole Crank-2 system coming. I guess this just makes things easier. For what it's worth, now I have two trusses. At least it can all fit in the trailer!

Got my first event on the 18th. Well, my first booked event had to be cancelled since the guitarist is having neck surgery. Fortunately, got a wedding reception on that date! The year is starting out nicely. Thanks ADJ, indirectly. The lights I've got are what might make the difference this year since I've got the most extensive lighting with the main area I have to deal with. Might be time for a pair of intelligent lights.
I ran into the same problem, and when I use them as a T, I wrap electric tape around the top of the crank stand pole to make it a tight fit when putting on the T Bar.
When setting up the full truss, put bolts with large washers and nuts on them just below the crossbeams.
This will save your hands when lowering them. I recommend having buying high quality bolts, and not cheapies.
I works great, and you can't even see the tape. You can even leave it on the pipe.
Very safe as well.
Before I put lights on it, I had a friend test it by hanging off it, and he is 170 pounds.
Try it, and let me know how it worked!
Dang, that's a good idea. I don't know why I didn't think of that. Would have saved me some money too.

Well, what you've effectively done is cost me a few bucks to have someone drill holes into those new crnak stands that don't fit properly. That's OK, I'd rather have someone with the proper tools do this sort of thing. Then buy a few good quality bolts with washers, and that isn't gonna cost that much either. I'm betting less than $25 to have the whole thing done and would take only a couple of hours of work, assuming being really lazy. One of my in-law's wife's family has some metal working tools. I have a trip down their scheduled anyways, might see about getting some additional things taken care of while I'm there. he can help me or at least show me how to do one, then I can do the rest.

Now, I've got a Crank-2 arriving in 2 days, two tripod stands with T's for my Par38's, and effectively given me a second trussing system. Not sure if I'll ever need that sort of capabilities, but that's one heck of an option. Dude, brilliant!

Oh no! Now I'm gonna want to buy more lights! This really never ends, does it?
Last update, maybe:

Today I received my ADJ Crank-2 system. Must say I have some mixed issues there.

First off, the positive. I bought the entire system, two crank stands and the truss-span. Assembly went smoothly, but that could be due to my previous experiences with my older trussing system.
Nice touch with the spring-loaded clips for the end-caps on the span. Ensures proper alignment, saving time and effort.

Now the negative, but should be looked at constructively and not as truly negatives:

Instructions were adequate, althoug the handle assembly could have been done better. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure this out.

On one pole on the spanning truss, a hole was not drilled to allow the security bolt to pass through, so I have 3 in the center, instead of 4. Must have slipped through quality control. Oh well, I need it for Saturday, no time to return or exchange. This is a random issue, well, at least I hope so.

Lastly, and this is my biggest issue and caused myy mixed feelings. The crank stands are in fact 1 3/8", NOT 1/5". If I had bought the Crank-2 stands, I woud have put myself in the same situation I was in with the other crank stands I bought. So, I am unhappy with the smaller diameter, but glad that I bought the entire Crank-2 system, so hey, what difference does it make, right? On a positive note, I can not mix and match and mess things up.

Got another product to play with(non-ADJ, non lighting) so gotta get in gear with that pronto. I have a band gig Saturday and a karaoke/DJ/Dance gig on Sunday, with 3 hours driving in between locations. It's gonna be a LONG weekend, but you can bet I'll be using my lights at both events AND will be using the new Crank-2 system.
