I am looking to use a color changer for stage WASH.

Frankly three or four Par 38's with 90 watt halogens are plenty of light for my needs, but of course, I only get a single color out of them.

The color 150's beam is WAY too small for my use.

I have the elation stage color, this works very well for wash, but requires too many amps for my purposes. I downsized these to the 400 watt bulbs, but it still simply draws too much power.

I was thinking the Rainbow 250 might work. I understand you can screw the lens off the front and get a decent wash.

I am also interested in the NEW Color 250D. Can this light be used effectively as a WASH?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

The rainbows would work for sure. The new ones, I assume u can prob do the same. Also, depending on the kind of shows that u do, a thin layer of fog or haze actually makes the lights seem a little more vibrant, (at least from my experiences) plus it also gives a nice effect to. Does anyone have any info on the new guys?
