I have two Chauvet 4Bar lights. I have been running them with an Chauvet Obey 10 which works well for what i expected for a $80. controller. I had been looking to run these lights and others with a laptop as soon as i found a program to use. MyDMX was just what i was looking for, made to be "user friendly" and it seems to be...however. I was able to find the profile in the scan library. All the lights show up and can be manipulated manualy using the sliders. When i bring up the effects generater it will only show -red1 green1 blue1 dimmer strobe and blue4 and those are the only lights i can get to function unless i back out don't save and reopen. Am i missing something here? thanks

Hello Mo, Welcome to the forums. i know why this is. The profiel creator software won't allow for a single fixture profile to have more than one set of RGB channels. when it was coded fixtures like that didn't exist. Unfortunately this won't change in the near future at all. At least not with my dmx. so what we have discovered is if you place from the generic folder a RGb.ssl profile in front or behind the control channels in my dmx you still can use the EFx generator with all the RGB sections and still have control of your shutter and dimmer etc channels. So i will email you a custom 3 channel profile for you to place first on the my dmx address grid then i want you to place 4 RGB profiles from the _generic folder after my custom 3 channel profile i send you. This way you will have control of all the RGB sections for the 4 bar. Understand? Let me know.
Sincerely,
Jingles-just wanted to get back to you and say the profile you sent me and the config. setup you indicated worked perfectly. Thanks again. I see there isn't a way within myDMX to use the built in mics on the fourbar. Is there a way to have myDMX bypassed but still connected to your fixtures and use the footswitch that comes with the fixtures. I use these lights with a live band. Would a midi controller give me more control of myDMX in a live situation or just complicate things for a guy just learning how this stuff operates. Thanks
