I have two X-Scan Plus fixtures that will be out of warranty soon. I have always been disappointed with the color wheel choices. I am thinking about changing a few of the colors on the wheel.

I know that diachronic filters are on the wheel, but I'm not sure how they are attached. Is it as simple as bending a few metal tabs or replace them or are the glued on?

I was thinking about adding a good UV and Red color. Is there any reason these colors wouldn't work with the LED light source?

In most cases I believe they are glued on.

Also I am pretty sure the reason we didn't add these colors is due to the smaller output of the fixtures. You would need something comparable if not greater to a 250-575 watt discharge lamp output to get a nice Red and UV out of the filter. I am confident that if you added a red or a UV to the wheel the output from those colors would decrease the total fixtures out put by over 50%. Red and UV are pretty dark colors. I would say if you do try this purchase a spare color wheel from our parts store in case it doesn't work like you thought. Link: X Scan LED PLUS Color Wheel.
